Yvonne Maxine Hursh

Yvonne Maxine Hursh, age 93, of rural Johnson County passed away on 26 November 2022, at the Ignite Medical Resort in Blue Springs MO. She was born May 20, 1929 in Warrensburg MO, the daughter of Raymond Marion Hursh and Bertha Johnson Hursh. Yvonne grew up in Warrensburg and graduated from Warrensburg High School. She married Kenneth Noel Carter in the RLDS Church in Warrensburg on 13 January 1952. Kenneth and Yvonne operated the Carter Appliance Store on Holden Street in downtown Warrensburg for many years. Yvonne taught piano lessons and was the organist for the Warrensburg RLDS church for many years. After their divorce in 1973, Yvonne operated the Somethyme Health Food store in Warrensburg for many more years, and lived at her farm in rural Johnson County, where she raised horses, chickens, and milk goats until, at age 93, she moved to the Ignite Medical Resort.

Yvonne is survived by her two children Katherine Carter (husband David Baxter) of Orono Maine and Carl Carter and wife Linda of Independence Missouri, as well as by her grandchildren Kayte Marie and husband Jonathan (Will) Williams and their daughter Aria Williams; Kenneth Raymond Carter and his wife Justi; and Christopher Lee Carter and his wife Haylea. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her sister Maxalene Hursh Broadbent, and by her husband Kenneth N. Carter.

A memorial service for Yvonne will be held on Wednesday November 30, at 2:00 pm at the Church of Christ, East Gate Restoration branch in Centerview MO with Randy Vick officiating, followed by interment in the Sunset Hill Cemetery in Warrensburg.
