In Loving Memory of Veronica Reason

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Matriarch Veronica “Nana” Reason also affectionally known as “Ronnie”, she passed away peacefully in her sleep after a brief illness on October 3rd , Nana was 87 years old, we celebrated her heavenly birthday on 10/5/25. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her. Surrounded by loved ones, she departed this world peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and cherished memories.

Born with a gentle spirit and a generous heart, she devoted their life to the happiness and well-being of others. Her laughter filled every room, and her wisdom guided us through both joyous and challenging times. Whether she was offering a helping hand or a listening ear, she always put others before herself. Raising her grand-kids and her own six children in Boston and Springfield, Massachusetts. She moved to St Louis Mo 21 years ago to be closer to her son Darren S. Johnson, Sr. and his wife, she was living with both her sons Guy Johnson and Darren for the last 11 years during her final days. They relocated to Kanas City, MO July 2025.

She is survived by children Robyn Johnson, Boston, MA, Louis Johnson, Boston, MA, Kenneth Johnson, Boston, and Darren Johnson (Ursula) Kansas City, MO, Guy Johnson, Kansas City, Mo., and Glenn Johnson, Springfield, MA she was survived by a host of grandchildren, great grand-children and great-great grandchildren + and all those whose lives were made brighter by her presence. While we grieve her loss, we also celebrate the incredible life she lived—a life marked by love, integrity, and the pursuit of happiness for all.

A memorial service will be held to honor her memory and celebrate her remarkable journey.

Though she may be gone from our sight, she will forever remain in our hearts. Veronica’s legacy and energy of love and kindness will continue to inspire us every day.

She was preceded by her loving parents Domingo & Beulah Vass, her brother Shirley Henry, her sister Josephine “Tronie” Jackson, and her brother Kenneth Vass, Sr and her brother Robert “Bobby” Vass she has one surviving sibling her sister Jocelyn Vass affectionately known as “Jossie”.
