Rafael is survived by his wife Delilah Alvarez; 5 children: Marbella Alvarez, Adelita Alvarez, Alajandria Alvarez, Rafael James Alvarez, and Luis Alvarez of Dixon, Illinois; his mother Yolanda Cardenas Diaz of Mexico; his siblings: Roberto Alvarez Cardenas of Missouri, Paloma Alvarez Cardenas of Mexico, Ricardo Alvarez Cardenas, Luis Alvarez Cardenas and Graciela of Mexico; and his in-laws Robert Beaty and Rochelle Beaty.

Rafael is preceded in death by his father Rafael Alvarez Aguilera of Mexico, papa Luis Cardenas Dominguez of Mexico, Maria de la Luz Diaz Madrigal of Mexico, Roberto Àlvarez Salinas of Mexico, and Maria Guadalupe Aguilera of Mexico.

Rafael Alvarez Cardenas was born on January 7, 1975, in La Piedad, Michoacan, Mexico to Rafael Àlvarez Aguilera and Yolanda Cardenas Diaz. He married Delilah Alvarez in 2005. After moving to Chana, Illinois, Rafael began working for Paragon Pork, Inc.

A funeral is scheduled for October 8, 2022, at 10 am at St. Mary Church, located at 301 N 4th St, Oregon, Illinois with a reception to follow. Rev. Joseph P. Naill will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Rafael’s life. Flowers and condolences may be sent to the church or 816 W 2nd St, Dixon, Illinois.
