Mary Ruth Hook

Mary Ruth Hook, 81, of Deepwater, MO, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026 after a long illness.

Mary was a woman of many talents. She was very active in school activities throughout the years as a room parent, involved in PTO and FHA as a leader for the students. She was a homemaker for many years and worked a variety of jobs, such as nail technician, seamstress at the sewing factory, nursing home activities director, business owner, and most well known as a floral designer.

Mary leaves behind her husband of 59 years, Raymond S. Hook, Deepwater, MO, mother Ruby Brown of Harrisonville, MO, sister Carole Craig of Harrisonville, MO, daughters Kim Hook of Harrisonville, MO and Karla (Chris) Goddard of Freeman, MO, five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, family and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her father, George Brown, one brother, James (Sonny) Brown, and one sister, Beverly Johnson.

Memorial services will be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64145; Donate - Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care.
