Lynnette Ellen Stump, 70, passed away on October 15, 2023 in Lee's Summit, Missouri after a valiant battle with cancer.
Lynnette was born March 27, 1953 in Battle Creek, Iowa. She grew up on a sharecropper farm and loved to spend time listening to the wind and birds amongst the tree groves. She attended Battle Creek High School and played percussion in the Battle Creek 'Bomber' marching band and was a member of her high school basketball team. She went on to attend Iowa State and spent the majority of her career in administration and marketing, retiring from ACT in 2011.
Lynnette married William Stump on June 7, 1975 in Battle Creek, IA. The couple had 3 children, Sasha Cart, Keenan Stump, and Kelsey Stegner.
Lynnette was best known for her strength, independence, and unwavering sense of curiosity and adventure. She was the kindest, most loving person who was special to every person she encountered. Her sense of humor was sharp, her puns were legendary. Many are still inexcusable to her family and friends and will live on forever.
Her greatest loves were music, books, flowers, art, friends, children and grandchildren.
She lived by the motto: No matter how you feel, get up, dress up, show up and never give up.
Lynnette is survived by husband, William Stump; daughter, Sasha Cart (Toby); son, Keenan Stump (Emily); daughter Kelsey Stegner (Matt); grandchildren, Tyler, Charlie, Grace, Cameron; brother, Marion Grant Smith; sister, Susan Campney; brother, Dave Watson (Judy); nieces and nephews, and beloved extended family.
Lynnette is preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Watson and brother, Denny Smith (Jane).
A celebration for Lynnette's life will be held on October 22, 2023 from 1:30-4pm at Campbell Dome House, 8126 Hamilton Dr, Overland Park, KS, 66204.
