Kathy Lynn Brack

November 8, 1955 — May 9, 2025

Grandview, MO.

Kathy Lynn Brack, age 69, of Grandview, Missouri, passed peacefully at the family home on May 9th, 2025 after a battle with cancer.

She was born on November 8th, 1955 to O.J. and Lorene Waisner in Kansas City, Missouri. Kathy was united in marriage to Richard Brack on September 18, 1982 at Red Bridge Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO. They shared over 42 years of marriage. She was a proud 1974 graduate of Holden High School and went on to continue her studies at Central Missouri State University.

Kathy was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend. Her family came first and foremost. She was a stay-at-home mother during her kids’ younger years and began working part-time at Meadowmere Elementary for the Grandview School District in 1994 while Kyle and Kristen were in elementary school. Several years later, she went on to hold several full-time positions within the district including attendance secretary, disciplinary secretary, and paraprofessional at Grandview High School until 2020. Kathy was actively involved with volunteer opportunities like being PTA president, assisting with Grandview Band Boosters, being a den mom with Cub Scouts, and participating in women’s ministries at church. She was a long-standing member of Kansas City First Church of the Nazarene in Kansas City, Missouri. If there was something to celebrate, Kathy was celebrating. She frequently organized parties, celebrations, and get-togethers for family and friends alike. Her giving spirit was expressed through homemade meals, baked treats, and her many crafts that she enjoyed over the years including smocking, cross-stitching, sewing, scrapbooking, flower gardening, crocheting, and diamond art. Kathy adored her grandchildren and always made their day by shipping craft boxes, treats, and enjoying many weekend visits over the years. Kathy was an incredibly caring person by always encouraging others around her and looking to lift others up.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Richard Brack; daughter, Kristen (Dustin) White of Highlandville, MO; son Kyle (Sarah) Brack of Phoenix, AZ; son Landon Brack of Kansas City; grandchildren Owen, Coralyn, and Waylon White and Kieran Brack; brother Steve (Diane) Waisner of Clever, MO; brother-in-law Ron Brack; brother-in-law Tom Brack; sister-in law Kimberlee (John) Beaney; sister-in-law Bonne’ (Mike) Thompson, along with many nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
