Jon C. Cooper

Jon Clark Cooper, 57, passed away on March 15, 2024, in Lee's Summit, MO.

Jon Cooper was born on December 20, 1966, in Elmhurst, IL, to Stephen Cooper and JoAnn Cooper.

Jon graduated from Raytown High School in 1985, where he was a four-sport letterman. He was an
active Eagle Scout and a member of tribe Mic-O-Say. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Security in 1989 and a Master’s Degree in Public Service Administration from University of Central
Missouri in Warrensburg. While at UCM he was an active member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.
After graduation Jon spent several years working for Anheuser Bush before starting a successful sales
career at Sysco Foods which spanned over 30 years. Some of Jon’s achievements included being the
recipient of several awards The Chairman’s Club, Torchbearer Club, Governor’s Cup and District of the
Year.

Jon had a passion for fast cars, boats, jet skis, dirt bikes, and motorcycles which affectionally earned him
the nickname, JC Speed. Jon passed down his love for speed and the lake to his nephews, Jay, and
Cannon Cooper. If Jon wasn’t cruising at record speeds you could find him at the Lake of the Ozarks
every weekend. Each morning, he rose with the sun in Indian Creek, slalom skiing and riding his trick ski
with his nephews or any of the other kids at the lake. There wasn’t anything Jon did not master on the
water--barefooting, wake surfing and railing on his jet ski or racing in his power boat all rounded out his
daily activities. For Jon there was no better place on earth than the Lake of the Ozarks.

Jon is survived by his wife, Shannon Cooper, of Lee’s Summit. Brother, Chris (Jeana), nephews, Jay, and
Cannon Cooper, of Pleasant Hill, and father, Stephen Cooper of Lee’s Summit. Jon was preceded in
death by his mother, JoAnn Cooper.

Jon lived each day to the fullest, embracing every moment with passion, positivity, and unwavering
courage.

A celebration of life for Jon Cooper will be held on April 15, 2024, at The Pavilion at John Knox Village,
520 NW Murray Rd, Lee’s Summit, MO 64081. Visitation from 3:00-5:00 CST with services immediately
following.
