Johnnie Paul Barbour

Johnnie Paul Barbour, 78, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024. He was born on November 9, 1945, in Richmond, Virginia. Johnnie, also known as Peeka, was a dedicated husband, proud family man, and hard worker who loved life.

My father had a vibrant personality and a great sense of humor. He was known for his sarcastic wit, which made him an absolute joy to be around. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, taking long walks, visiting the lake, and playing with his grandchildren in the park.

In his career, he was a retired over the road truck driver. He later spent the rest of his work career at the T-mobile Center in Kansas City, MO.

He will be deeply missed by his loved ones. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy Barbour of Kansas City, MO, his sister Clarene Stewart, of Winston Salem, NC, his daughter Shedrika Love of Kansas City, MO, his grandsons Zagary Atwood of Tarzana, CA, and Jamarco Leamon of Dublin, CA, his granddaughter Latoria Atwood of Kansas City, MO, six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins  Freddie Alexander and Mary & Shondra Barber.

He was preceded in death by his father, Luther Littlejohn, and his mother, Julia Barber.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, from 1-3 pm. The service will take place at Complete Cremation & Funeral Service located at 1505 Brookhart Drive, Harrisonville, MO 64701.
