John William Powell Jr

John William Powell Jr, 86, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away Friday, August 26, 2022, at his home in Harrisonville, MO. He was born July 28, 1936, in Brooklyn, NY. On July 26, 1958, he married Joanne Louise Reed. John was a Union member of the IBEW for 65 years. He retired from KCP&L in 1993 as a Lineman. John belonged to the Knights of Columbus for 50 years. John’s hobbies were playing the stock market, traveling with his RV, sharing a good joke, and playing card games.

John is survived by his wife of 64 years Joanne Powell; 5 children: John (wife Lori) Powell of Oakdale, MN, Bob (wife Janet) Powell of Appling, GA, Chris (wife Stephanie) Powell of Cleveland, OH, Jody Landon of Sedalia, MO, and Cathy (husband Casey) Belker of Harrisonville, MO; 13 grandchildren: James Jr, Joseph, Sarah, Jessica, Reed, Parker, Katelyn, Andrew, and Ella Powell, Adam and Ashley Landon, and Craig and Jake Ward; and 7 great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his son James Powell of Minneapolis, MN.
