Jana Kay Jones, age 66, beloved mother, grandmother, and dedicated caregiver, passed away peacefully at her home in Lone Jack, MO on February 29, 2024. She is survived by her children: Taci (daughter) and Mike Hicks of Lone Jack, MO; Bryson Petty (son) and Charity of Liberty, MO; Megan Anderson (daughter) and Jason Davidson of Columbus, KS. Her grandchildren: Christian Hicks, Shelby Hicks, Jordan Wright, Grayson Hicks, Aubrey Petty, Bryleigh Petty, Austyn Stewart, Kaylyn Anderson, and Jeremy Davidson. Her siblings: Tony Morton (brother) and Pam; Lynn (sister) and Rick Kincaid. Nieces and nephews: Nichole (niece) and Dan Smith, Ethan and Bailey. Preceded in death by her son, Shawn Petty; Beverly (mother) and Doyle Morton (father).
Jana cherished her role as a mother and caregiver, devoting herself wholeheartedly to her family. She tenderly cared for her son Shawn until his passing at the age of 39 in 2017.
In her later years, Jana found solace and joy in the tranquility of country life, embracing the serenity of farm living. She delighted in tending to the animals, gathering around bonfires, and sharing cherished moments with her children and grandchildren.
Jana’s greatest anticipation was reuniting with her beloved son Shawn and her mother Beverly in Heaven. Her memory will forever be treasured by her family and all who were touched by her warmth, compassion, and unwavering love.
