James (Jim) Bishop Thornhill

James Bishop Thornhill, 84, of Belton MO passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. He was born October 25, 1936 in Kansas City MO, the son of Noel and Mary Catherine (Bishop) Thornhill. He is preceded in death by his parents. Jim is survived by his wife of 30 years, Felicia, son David Thornhill, brother Jerry Thornhill (Sandy) and many nieces and nephews.

Since 1990, Jim was actively involved with the First Baptist Church of Belton. He taught various Bible Study Classes and for two years he taught at Heartland Christian School provided by the church. While he retired from Glaxo SmithKline in 1999, his true passion was teaching. He later went on to teach at Longview Community College part-time until December 2014 when he fully retired.

Visitation will be at the church on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 10:00 AM followed by the memorial service at 11:00 AM.
