Homer's Life on his way to see his Heavenly Father.
Homer Lucious Cheers was born in Clarksville, Missouri to Homer A. Cheers and Sallie Vaughn Cheers, February 28, 1939. His father, mother, grandparents, sister Margaret Cheers Stone, and son Charles Tyrone Cheers, preceded him in death.
Homer was raised in Burlington, Iowa and graduated from high school in 1957. After graduating from high school, Homer joined the Air Force and served for 20 years. Homer retired from the Air Force in 1977 as a Master Sergeant. Homer was then hired by the William Pipeline Company and worked in several positions. He retired in March of 2003 after 25 years of service.
Homer became a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in 1995. He sang in the Mass Choir and was a member of the Male Chorus. He was a faithful member, a hard worker for his Lord and Savior and he regularly attended Sunday School.
Homer was an avid bowler and was a longtime member of the Midwest Bowler's Guild. He also was a member of the Jive Turkey Bowling Club. Homer won many awards and received numerous recognitions during his many years of bowling.
Homer departed this life for a better life on August 9th, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Frances Newbill Cheers of Kansas City, MO., son Anthony E. Cheers Sr., of Yucaipa, CA., daughter Candice Cheers McQueen of Florida, daughter Danielle A. Cheers of Kansas City, MO., sisters Helen Cheers Miller and Candra Jo Cheers, many grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
