Francis (Frank) Matthews passed away peacefully April 13th, 2023 in Raymore, Missouri at the age of 85 with his wife by his side. Frank is survived by his sister Shirley Vortisch of Burlington, CT.; daughters Lisa Hamlin and Linda McConnell of Hutchinson, KS; son Jeffery Matthews of Hutchinson, KS., and step-daughter Star Cipolla of Lee’s Summit, MO. He leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Frank was born on November 25, 1937 in Plainville, CT to Fred and Blanche Matthews. He graduated from Plainville High School in 1955. He served in the USMC from 1955-1957. He also attended EC Goodwin Technical School in New Britain, CT. He grew up and lived in Plainville, CT until he moved to Hutchinson, KS in 1978. He married Twyla Rothe on October 18th, 1980 in Hutchinson, KS. They spent 45 wonderful years together. He cherished every moment he spent with family, friends, and his pets. He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him. He had a big heart and a wonderful sense of humor, always trying to make others laugh. In keeping with his request, he will be cremated, and the family will have a private celebration at a later date.
