He took a detour to serve in the Army from 1974 to 1977, where he collected more than his share of stories and camaraderie, not to mention a few good marching tunes. Upon his return, family life took the wheel. Dennis was a father first, mechanic second, and a comedian at every opportunity.
Life threw a few speed bumps his way with a stroke at 59, but he navigated them with the help of his his devoted sister, her family and Beautiful Savior nursing home kept his spirits fueled for the final laps of his journey. He couldn't work on cars anymore but he never stopped singing those classic tunes..

In lieu of flowers, toss a few coins into the donation jar for Beautiful Savior Lutheran Home or The Fisher House in Kansas City, Missouri. It's what Dennis would have wanted-helping others to keep their engines running and their tires on the road. Rest Easy Brother!
