David Gene Sharpe

David Gene Sharpe, 63, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away at Centerpoint Hospital in Independence, MO on Saturday, June 6, 2020, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born on January 19, 1957, in Troy, MO. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Christy Sharpe (nee Summy); his father, Gary Sharpe, 81, of Elsberry, MO; his brother, Mark Sharpe, 49, of Fort Dodge, IA; his son, Eric Sharpe, 26, of Wentzville, MO; his stepson, Alex Duncan, 28, of Kansas City, MO; his stepdaughter, Whitney Mock, 35, of Mendon, IL; two nieces, Ashlyn Sharpe, 21, of McCallsburg, IA, MacKenzie Sharpe, 20, of Fort Dodge, IA; two grandchildren, Christian Mock, 17, of Mendon, IL and Jacob Limpert, 15, of St. Peters, MO.

He was employed as a Tool and Die Designer with Synexis Biodefense in Overland Park, KS. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, riding his Harley and playing his guitar. Known as Shorty to his friends, David was big in spirit and big in stature. He always had a joke to share and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorial service to be held at Mid-America Baptist Church in Winfield, MO, on Sunday, June 14, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. with burial following at Star Hope Baptist Church cemetery in Elsberry, MO.
