Dana Hawkins, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, in Kansas City, Kansas.
Dana was born on October 16, in Troy, OH, to Ella Mae Sanner and Glenn Hawkins. Dana was the youngest of three and according to his siblings was the most spoiled.
Dana is survived by his wife, Denise Hawkins, of Warsaw, his son, Elijah Hawkins and daughter-in-law McKynna Hawkins, his daughter, Rachael Hawkins, and his son, Aaron Hawkins. He is also survived by his brother, Leon Hawkins and sister-in-law Sandy Hawkins, of Troy, OH, and his father and mother-in-law, Steve and Dawn Squires. Plus an abundance of beloved friends and family, including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dana is preceded in death by his mother Ella Mae Sanner, his father, Glenn Hawkins, and his sister, Theresa Kindell.
Dana had many different career paths and loved to learn how to do new things, especially when his father-in-law bought a new business. His latest adventure was working as an Appliance Repair Technician which he enjoyed doing so he could help others and meet new people.
Dana was best known for his infectious smile and his ability to make people laugh. He loved to watch Cops, drink his Pepsi, spend time with family and create lots of memories. He was able to do quite a bit of traveling, but loved to spend time in Branson, MO. In his free time, you could find him listening to a wide range of music including DC Talk, Guns N' Roses, and The Eagles.
If he wasn't sure how to do something, he would research it or watch YouTube until he taught himself how to do it. He was very passionate about each of his kids' hobbies and accomplishments, and would pour his time and energy into their interests.
The Celebration of Life for Dana Hawkins will be held on August 10, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Warsaw, MO.
Memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Dana in lieu of flowers.
