Cynthia “Cindy” McAlister died in her home on March 23, 2022 in Independence, MO at the age of 57. Cindy is survived by her children Daniel and Sara Reedy, her granddaughter Dani, her sister Dawn McAlister, and her brother Mitch McAlister. She is preceded in death by her mother Janice McNeil, her father Henry McAlister, and her stepfather Robert “Mac” Wood.Cindy was born on 16 October 1964 in Kansas City, MO to Janice and Henry McAlister. She graduated from Grandview Senior High in 1983. For a time she was a substitute teacher, a realtor, and she worked for the family business McAlister Body and Frame.As a young woman Cindy enjoyed going to the lake with her family where she became an excellent jet skier. Family was the most important thing in Cindy’s life. She loved being an aunt, a mother, and later a grandmother. Cindy was a PTA mom and often participated in the holiday parties at her children’s school. Cindy saw the best in everyone, had a beautiful smile, and will be greatly missed by her family.A funeral is scheduled for 10:30 am on Saturday April 2, 2022 at Fairmount UMC in Independence, MO with a reception to follow.
