Carla Ellen Layne

Carla married the love of her life, Robert (Bobby) Layne, on October 4, 2009, and they made their home in Kansas City, MO.

Carla worked as an in home day care provider for most of her life along with working at Kreigel’s Jewelry and Brotherhood Bank. She had a love of the racetrack and racing and was a fan and supporter of Layne Racing. The love and passion that she had for racing led her to be the secretary and then president of the Central Auto Racing Boosters Hall of Fame and Museum (CARB).

Carla was a devoted mother and grandmother who was adventurous, outgoing, energetic, kind hearted, and passionate about everything she did. She never knew a stranger and could become friends with anyone she met.

Carla is survived by her husband Bobby; her children Mike (Sherri) Skinner, Jeff Bard, Tami Woldum, Danna (Mark) Abadir, Robbie Layne, and Ben (Lorrie) Layne and bonus son Mike Tindell; grandchildren Kyle, Timmy, Brendyn, Ashlynn, Coltyn, Sunne, Rainie, Mikel, Chase, Dylan, Emerson and Eli; great-grandsons Braxtyn and Huxley; and her dog Winston.

She was proceeded in death by her parents and her brother Eric Broaddus.

A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Elmwood Chapel located at 4900 Truman Road, Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with the memorial service to follow.
