Anna Marjorie Carroll

October 31, 1928 — June 19, 2022

Anna “Marjorie” Carroll (Jameson) was born October 31, 1928, to Frank and Maude Jameson on a farm 5 miles south of Stanberry, Missouri. She departed this life on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at the age of 93.

When Marjorie graduated high school, she attended 10 weeks of summer college in Maryville, Missouri. She then taught a year of grade school in Union, north of Gentry, Missouri. Marjorie worked at Old American Insurance, Southwestern Bell telephone company and Dr. Kimball veterinarian before getting married.

On February 26, 1949, she married Frank Carroll in Maryville, Missouri. They purchased the Chevrolet dealership in 1958 in Stanberry, Missouri and she became the bookkeeper.

Marjorie was a member of the DAR (Daughter’s of the American Revolution), Stanberry United Methodist Church and the Red Hats Society. She volunteered and loved everything about schools. So, she tutored kindergarten and 1st grade students. In later years she enjoyed playing bridge, shopping, and traveling. She especially enjoyed living in a newly decorated apartment where she entertained with club parties and family holiday gatherings.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Stanberry United Methodist Church, 508 N Park St, Stanberry, Missouri at 11am. A private burial will be held later that afternoon.

Marjorie requested contributions to be made to the Frank and Marjorie Carroll school scholarship award at Stanberry High School in lieu of flowers.
