IN LOVING MEMORY OF

Kim Alison

Smith

Dec 8, 1966 — Jun 26, 2026

Obituary

Kim Alison Smith (Calhoon) was welcomed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 26, 2026, at 9:22 a.m., after enduring cancer with remarkable courage, grace, and unwavering trust in God. While our hearts grieve her absence, we rejoice that she is free from pain, fully healed, and experiencing the joy of being in the presence of the One she faithfully loved and served throughout her life.

Kim was born December 8 1966 to Charles Calhoon and Betty Calhoon (Unnewehr). She has 7 brothers and sisters: Cathy, Debbie, Karla, Doug, Cary, Teresa, and Todd.

Steve Park caught Kim’s eye while they attended Ozark Christian College and married shortly before graduation. They welcomed with loving arms 4 children into this world: David, Dylan, Jordan, and Haley.

Haley blessed Kim with two grandchildren: Annabelle Meadow, and Silas.

Jordan and his wife Krista blessed Kim with two grandchildren: Laura Marie and Wyatt Samuel.

David and his wife Samantha blessed Kim with one grandchild: William Cooper.

Few things brought Kim greater joy than being a mom and a grandma. She delighted in every hug, every visit, every milestone, and every opportunity to pour love into the lives of her five grandchildren.

Kim unconditionally loved Jesus and her family. She would always share stories from childhood and her life as a loving mother to her 4 children and 5 grandchildren. She also loved the great outdoors, going on bicycle rides/trips, hiking trails, Christian and Classic Rock music.

One of Kim’s greatest privileges was helping plant two churches: Cedar Creek Christian Church (now, Lee’s Summit campus of Legacy Christian Church) and Revive Church, leaving a lasting spiritual legacy that will continue to bear fruit for years to come.

Kim worked a variety of jobs in her lifetime; however, H&R Block was her favorite. First working in Technical Support and later became a Technical Writer. H&R Block started her career as a Technical Writer. This is where she met Brian Smith and after a long courtship they married on          October 11 2008.

Kim, You may be gone from us but will never be forgotten.

Your loving family and friends.
