In Loving Memory of Kenneth “Kenny” Clark McMahan

Kenneth “Kenny” Clark McMahan passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, in Independence, Missouri. Kenny was born on April 3, 1967, to his parents, Richard and Patricia McMahan.

Kenny was a hard worker from a young age. Throughout his life, he wore many hats and never shied away from an honest day’s work. He worked at Zesto’s and Brown’s Chicken restaurants, Rainbow Carwash, and as a tow truck driver. He eventually found a long-term home at Owen Lumber, where he spent 28–29 years of his life working hard and building lasting friendships and memories.

But work was only one part of who Kenny was. What mattered most to him was his family and the people he loved. If Kenny was around, there was a good chance there was laughter, too. He had a unique sense of humor and a way of making people laugh until they cried—and sometimes laugh so hard they peed their pants. More often than not, it was both. Those moments of uncontrollable laughter are the memories his loved ones will treasure forever.

Kenny also had a heart for his community and for the world around him. He often spent his time picking up litter along Holmes Road and 150th Street. He didn’t do it for recognition or praise. He simply saw something that needed to be done and did it. In his own quiet way, Kenny made the places around him a little better.

Kenny is survived by his three sons, Jackson of Dayton, Missouri; Joseph of Belton, Missouri; and Jacob of Harrisonville, Missouri. He is also survived by his siblings, Lance Balderston, Glenda McMahan, Jenny Minchew, and Angela McMahan; his brother-in-law, Stephen Hall; as well as his grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Kenny loved his family deeply, and he was loved deeply in return. He leaves behind far more than a list of accomplishments. He leaves behind laughter, stories, memories, and pieces of himself in all the people whose lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Kenny will be remembered for his hard work, his generous heart, his willingness to help, and, most of all, his ability to make people laugh. His presence brought joy into the lives of those around him, and his absence will be felt deeply by all who knew and loved him.

Though he is no longer with us, the laughter he created, the kindness he showed, and the memories he gave us will live on. Kenny will be missed more than words can say and remembered with love for years to come.

A celebration of Kenny’s life will be held at a later date. Details will be announced when arrangements are finalized.
